- Gutter Inspection – While inspecting your roof, inspect your gutters. Make sure your gutters are still secure and that they are not broken or damaged. Damaged or broken gutters can cause water to drain directly next to your home’s foundation which can cause problems.
- Interior Inspection – After completing an exterior inspection it is good to inspect inside as well. Using a flashlight, you can inspect your attic and ceiling for signs of water leaks. Check for wet areas on the ceiling and down the sides of the walls.
These steps can be followed for all different types of roofing such as shingle, tile, metal or flat. If your damages are minor and you feel you are able to repair them yourself, do so with extreme caution as some damages may not be so clearly visible causing slippage and injuries.
